The latest annual report for auditing and research company PricewaterhouseCoopers shows that the UK has one of the highest concentration of internal auditions.
According to the latest report, only around 2.5% of UK employers were offering auditions for external roles, down from 5.4% in 2013.
The biggest drop in internal auditing jobs was for finance professionals.
The number of people with roles in the financial services sector dropped from 14.3% to 12.6%.
Pricewaterfielde’s annual report says the number of positions offered in this sector has fallen by 9.2% in the past year.
The data also shows that there are around 2,400 positions for external auditors in the country.
The UK is a country that has seen an increase in the number and types of auditing roles over the past few years.
In 2015, Pricewaterhouses report found that the majority of roles were internal, with just under half of all roles offered to external auditing.
Pricewaterhouse says it is important to note that the number is not always the highest.
It is important for companies to look at the role of a job in a country and take into account the type of role being offered, such as an auditor.
