The audit of the Maharashtra government’s finances was not properly audited, the auditor for the state auditor general (AG) has said.
In a statement to the Rajya Sabha, Amit Bhardwaj said the audit team of the AG had not carried out a thorough audit on the budget documents.
“The budget documents are not in the original version, but in their final form and the team of AG has not carried this out.
They have not done the audit on them,” he said.
The government had last week announced the completion of the fiscal year.
The report has alleged that some key documents were missing and not submitted to the budget auditor.
